All Saints Sunday: 6 November 2011

Collect: Heavenly Father, you have raised up Saints in every generation to show us the way to you, and to demonstrate holiness of life. So reign in our hearts and of those baptised this day, that we too would join in the fullness of the communion of saints. This we ask through Yeshua haMoshiach who lives and reins with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen.

31 October: Heavenly Father, on this day Martin Luther nailed his theses to the door of the Wittenberg Cathedral, not to challenge the church, but to transform it into a true body for mission. Grant us zeal in reforming the church and translating scripture and liturgy so all may understand your word, and be enabled for mission to the entire world. This we ask in the name of our Lord Yeshuah. Amen. (white)


1 November: Blessed God, you have raised up saints in every generation to be lights for us to show us that we too can imitate Messiah. So govern our hearts, that as we remember the heroes of the church, that we follow their example and live for you. This we ask in the name of Yeshuah who lives and reins with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God, surrounded by saints and all the company of heaven. Amen. (white)

2 November: Blessed Father, you are the Lord of the Living, and all the faithful are alive to you. Bless us with the memories of our loved ones who have gone on before us, that we following their examples may find a mansion prepared for us by our Lord Yeshua. This we ask in his most precious name. 3 November: Heavenly Father, you gave your presbyter Richard Hooker wonderful gifts of understanding and teaching; raise up in this and every generation men who would teach us the true faith, and help us with Richard to remember that all things are to be measured by scripture, and where scripture is silent we are to follow the traditions of the church, and where both are silent, we are to use our reason based on the witness of scripture and tradition. 4 November: Gracious Lord, pardon us from our disobedience and self-centered will. Bend us to kneel before your holy presence and obey you so we may conform to "a life worthy of our calling to which we have been called..." (Ephesians 4:1-2). 5 November: O God, our Father, we confess that we have depended on our own foolishness and unwise choices. We have listened to the wrong voices which tend to please our ears. Turn us back toward that which is true and right in you so we may proclaim your power and wisdom. Amen.

25 October: Precious Saviour, how happy we are to know you will relieve us of our

26 October: Heavenly Father, as Alfred rebuilt England and restored the church, he also witnessed to his enemy Guthrum and persuaded him to receive Messiah. 17 October: Heavenly Father, as you raised up your servant Ignatius to be Bishop of Antioch and to suffer and die for his faith. Grant that we may gather more frequently to celebrate the Eucharist, sharing the medicine of immortality, and that we would follow the bishop, as Jesus followed the Father, follow the presbytery as we would follow the apostles, and respect the deacons as we respect God’s law. 18 October: Almighty Healer, we are woven as part of your wondrous being, and you inspired your servant Luke to set down your life and tell of your healing love. We are so grateful for the loving care you provide through the nurture of our bodies, minds, and souls in order that we can be for you in this world. This we ask in the name of our blessed Saviour who healed the sick, raised the dead and proclaimed liberty to the captives. Amen. (red)

19 October: Healing Lord, we come to you in sickness, despair, and with worries on our hearts. Thank you for allowing us to lay our fears and sins at your feet, knowing you will calm us and show us your mercy. Amen.

20 October: Our pockets may be lined with riches, our homes filled with treasures, but without your blessings, Lord, we have nothing. You are our provider and protector. Only by your grace and your love will we prosper. Amen.

21 October: Creator God, our bodies sense you in all things. In the cool grass under our feet, in the taste of ripe fruit, in the smell of blooming flowers, in the colors of the sunset, in the sound of beating drums. Touch us today Lord through your creation. 22 October: Loving Father, as your children, we often are self-centered and we don't treat you with honor and respect. Forgive us when we don't acknowledge your love and don't give our thanks to you for all we are, all we have, and all you have done for us.
