9 Gracetide: 1 August 2009

Torah: Exodus 7:14-10:29
Prophet: Jeremiah 52:1-34
Writing: Proverbs 15:1-33
Psalm: 119:121-128
Epistle: Hebrews 11:1-40
Gospel: Mark 4:21-29
Collect: Gracious Father, you have filled us with life and goodness. You bless us and make us holy. By the power of your Ruach haKodesh, stir up in our hearts faithfulness even unto death, all in the name of your Son, the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God, now and forever. Amen.

26 July: Heavenly Father, who permitted James to be the first of the twelve to witness to Yeshua through martyrdom. Make us willing to give up all for the sake of Messiah, this we ask in his most precious name. Amen. (red)

27 July: Loving God, as we remember this day the parents of the Blessed Virgin, Miriam, guide us all that we would truly be one family in God, with the Messiah as head of all. This we ask through Yeshua HaMoshiach, who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen (white)

28 July: Almighty God, beautiful in majesty and majestic in holiness,
who have taught us in Holy Scripture to sing your praises, and who have given to your servants Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frederick Handel, and Heinrich Schuetz grace to show forth your glory in their music: Be with all your servants who write and make music for your people, that with joy we on earth may glimpse your beauty, and at length may know the inexhaustible richness of your new creation in Yeshua HaMoshiach our Lord. Amen. (white)

29 July: Blessed Father, you raised up Mary and Martha of Bethany to serve our Lord, each in her own way. Grant that we may serve you directly and though others with the same love that Mary and Martha had, this we ask through our Lord and Saviour, Yeshuah, who lives and reigns with you and Ruach haKodesh, one God in Glory everlasting. Amen. (white)

30 July: God of the Covenant, your word inspires us to live in relationship to your call. Help us to follow the example of William Wilberforce, that we may constantly defend the poor, help those with no helper, and seek the kingdom. Through Yeshuah who freed us from the slavery to our sins we pray. Amen. (white)

31 July: Heavenly Father, you raised up Ignatius of Loyola to found the Society of Jesus. We pray with him, that you would take us away from ourselves, and let us belong completely to you, take away from us everything that keeps us apart from you, and grant us everything that draws us closer to you, this we ask, through Yeshua, who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen. (white)
