Baptism of our Lord: January 9, 2011

Torah: Exodus 36:2-37:29
Prophet: Isaiah 42: 1-9
Writing: Job 6:1-7:21
Psalm: 8
Epistle: I Corinthians 12:1-31
Gospel: Luke 3:21-38
Collect: Blessed Saviour, you were without sin, yet were baptised by John as an example for us. Through faith in you and through our baptisms, we died to sin, were raised to new life, and given the gift of the Ruach haKodesh to guide us. Remind us daily and infuse us with the Ruach haKodesh, that we must be examples to believers and non-believers that our lives would gather much fruit, new Christians dedicated to your service. This we ask in the name of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua haMoshiach, who lives and reins with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen.

3 January: You deliver us, Emanuel, from many things so that we can belong to Messiah alone. May our lives which are freely lived, freely shared, and freely given bring honour, praise, and glory to your name: this we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach, who took our nature upon himself to redeem it. Amen. (gold)

4 January: Emanuel, forgive us the things we love more than you. You are the source of every good thing, each tender mercy and all blessing. May we love you even more than these gifts: this we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach, who took our nature upon himself to redeem it. Amen. (gold)

5 January: Your generosity, Emanuel, humbles and inspires us. Make us more giving of all that we are. Make us more trusting in all that you are. Humbled and inspired, send us to all who hunger and thirst. this we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach, who took our nature upon himself to redeem it. Amen. (gold)

6 January: Lord Yahweh Sabbaoth, by the light of a star you guided the Magi into the presence of Yeshua to give him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. So let the light of Yeshua shine out through our hearts, that those around us would be drawn to your presence to render you homage and accept you as Lord and Saviour. This we ask in the blessed name of Yeshua haMoshiach. Amen. (gold)

7 January: Messiah, the good Shepherd and Lamb of God, grant us this day the willingness and the strength to follow both your lead and your example. This we ask through Yeshua haMoshiach who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen. (green)

8 January: Purge from us, Prince of peace, all indifference or resignation to the devaluing and destruction of human life. Create in us hearts that are broken and filled with your love for this world. This we ask through Yeshua haMoshiach who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen. (green)
