29 march 2008: Fifth Sunday of Lent

Torah: Deuteronomy 26:1-19
Prophet: Isaiah 56:1-57:13
Writing: II Chronicles 22:10-23:21
Psalm: 31
Epistle: James 5:7-20
Gospel: Mathew. 7:15-29
Collect: Dear Lord, you were spit upon, jeered, beaten and crucified for our sake. Teach us dear Lord to put you first in our lives, and humble us that serving you truly here we would attain greatness in your sight. This we ask through Adonai Yeshua haMoshiach who lives and reigns with you and Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen.

Monday: How easy it is to forsake you, O Lord. Forgive us for not recognizing your bounteous blessings to us. Help us to see the constant reminders of your presence in our lives. Help us to walk in the faith you have given to us through HaMoshiach our Lord. Amen.

Tuesday: Merciful God, we try to do your will, which is to love kindness and mercy, and to walk humbly before you. We have come to realize that it is not possible by might nor power but by your Holy Spirit. Help us not to lose heart but to be encouraged by your words that constantly sustain us by knowing that you are still in control. Amen.

Wednesday: Don't you ever grow weary of our bad habits and weaknesses, O Lord? Why are you so patient with us? You believe that we can change. And your faith in us is just the thing to soften our hearts. Make it so, O Lord! Amen.

Thursday: Heavenly Father, your servant Richard of Chichester truly loved you and was so humble, that he eschewed riding horseback. Grant that we may follow his example and see you more clearly, love you more dearly and follow you more dearly day by day. Through Yeshuah haMoshiach who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen. (white)

Friday: Dear Lord, you raised up Martin Luther King, Jr. to challenge how we lived in faith and how we related to people who were different. Grant that when we are in error, we would repent, and make amends. This we ask through Yeshuah haMoshiach, who lives and reigns with you and Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen.

Saturday: All powerful God, there is nothing beyond your understanding or that you cannot do. With a word spoken by your mouth or by a touch of your hands you can restore the sick to health and the dead to life. Make us sensitive to that miraculous touch so we can be healed both spiritually and physically. Through Christ's name we pray. Amen.
