Proper 19: 25 September 2011

Torah: Numbers 29: 1-6
Prophet: Jeremiah 31:1-19
Writing: Ecclesiastes 1:1-2:26
Psalm: 25
Epistle: I Corinthians 2:1-16
Gospel: Luke 16:1-18
Collect: Gracious Father, you have blessed us in many ways. Teach us to always use those blessings for the advancement of your kingdom. This we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting.

19 September: Heavenly Father, you sent Theodore to organize and put right the church of England and to reconcile the church of the English with the Church of the Celts. Raise up among us, clergy and laity, who will help organise the church today so that it would be an effective means of evangelising the world in which we live. This we ask in the name of Yeshua, who lives and reigns with you and Ruach ha Kodesh, one God in Glory everlasting. Amen. (white)

20 September: Creator God, by your will, families, communities, and nations come into being. Reveal yourself this day and remind us that we are not our own. Give us the spirit of humility to claim you alone as our helper and Lord. For Yeshua' sake. Amen.

21 September: Dear Father, as you raised Mathew from being a tax collector to an ambassador for your kingdom, and caused him to write his Gospel for the Messianic Jews of his time; so transform us that our lives would lead to the conversion of many and help us to remember that our lives may be the only Bible unbelievers will read. This we ask through Yeshuah, who lives and reigns with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God in glory everlasting. Amen. (red)

22 September: Gracious Lord, when we find ourselves in wilderness places, tempted and tried, we sometimes lose our way. Give us grace to wait on you with the assurance that you will send your angels to sustain us. In Yeshua' name. Amen.

23 September: Lord, as we join brothers and sisters in praying 'give us this day our daily bread,' help us to feed on your word and be clothed in your righteousness so that whether in this world or the next, we will be at home with you. For Yeshua' sake. Amen.

24 September: God, our Provider, we pray for the servants of your church who are working in very difficult circumstances right now. We pray that you will
remember them for we know that when you remember, you provide. Through Yeshua HaMoshiach. Amen.

21 December: 4th Sunday of Advent

Torah: Deuteronomy 12:29-14:2
Prophet: Isaiah 42:1-25
Writing: II Chronicles 10:1-11:4
Psalm: 42
Epistle: II Peter 3:1-19
Gospel: Luke 1:26-38
Collect: El Shaddai, when you sent your angel Gabriel to Miriam, she accepted your message, and put her faith in you to complete your word in her, that The Word, Yeshua would be born into the world. Aid us, that our faith would be equal to hers, trusting you for defense, and trusting that you would complete your word in us today. This we ask through your son, Yeshua haMoshiach, who lives and reins with you and the Ruach haKodesh, one God, in shekina glory everlasting. Amen.

Collects for the Week:
22 December (St. Thomas): El Shadai, who gave Thomas the strength to be ready to die for you, and the grace to travel to India. Help us that we may always be ready to give our lives for you and ready to travel to the far ends of the earth to proclaim your Gospel. This we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach, who lives and governs with you in Shekina glory everlasting. Amen. (John 20: 24-29)

23 December: El Shadai, Liberating God, it is awesome to call you father. You care for your children despite their circumstances. We thank you for institutions and individuals who minister to your will to uplift the poor, oppressed, and downtrodden, for as much as we do it to the least of these, we do it unto thee. Amen.

24 December: Sacrificial Lord, your incarnation continues to startle the world. There are still those who question the divine mystery of your birth. Those who are touched by your intervention in their lives hail you as their King and Savior. We prepare to welcome you anew this Nativity celebration. This we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach, who lives and governs with you in Shekina glory everlasting. Amen.

25 December: At your birth upon this earth, Lord we adore you. We worship you and we bless you for indeed you are King of kings and Lord of lords. We receive you anew this day not as the child in the manger, but as our true Savior and Lord. Amen. (Luke 2:1-20)

26 December: Emanuel, you raised up your servant Stephan to a ministry of service and to preach the Gospel. Teach us like him to forgive those who persecute us, and to be faithful in service and proclaiming your kingdom, this we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach, who took our nature upon himself to redeem it. Amen. (Acts 6:8-7:2a, 51c-60)

27 December: Emanuel, you raised up John to proclaim the Gospel, to reveal that you are love, and to be Bishop of Ephesus. Help us to so love one another that the world would see you in us and our behaviour and come to know you as Lord, and Saviour: this we ask in the name of Yeshua haMoshiach, who took our nature upon himself to redeem it. Amen. (John 212:19b-24)
